Position Overview:

This position is responsible for developing control and automation solutions for various types of high and ultra-high purity automatic and semi-automatic gas delivery systems for innovative, cutting-edge technology applications. This includes engineering-to-order standard product offerings as well as designing custom controls solutions, including both hardware and software. The Controls Engineer will also be responsible for testing and providing troubleshooting support to our field service engineers, technicians, or end users.

Responsibilities Include:

  • PLC and HMI programming across a variety of platforms
  • Electrical schematic drawings
  • Help commission automatic and semi-automatic gas delivery systems
  • Develop and maintain proper documentation of all electrical/controls projects
  • Creative control over projects
  • Leading a project through to completion
  • Work closely with mechanical and chemical engineers and final assembly team to integrate controls into complete system manufacturing
  • Ensure that final products conform to functional specifications and customer requirements
  • Participate in weekly controls meetings
  • Work simultaneously on multiple projects
  • Minimal business travel (< 10%)

Required Experience:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field
  • 1-3 years’ experience in PLC programming on Siemens or equivalent PLCs
  • 1-3 years’ experience in controls hardware design
  • 1-3 years’ experience in HMI or SCADA design
  • 1-3 years’ experience troubleshooting hardware in a factory setting
  • Proficiency in CAD working with electrical diagrams and drawings
  • MRP/ERP software experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Start-up and commissioning experience is a plus
