Position Overview:

This position is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, documentation, and execution of control systems for various types of SEMI-GAS® and VERSA-GAS™ automatic and semi-automatic gas delivery systems. This includes handling the daily operations, activities, reporting and forecasting for a small controls engineering department, as well as helping to implement and drive corporate strategies. The Controls Engineering Manager will also ensure that all controls equipment is designed, built, and programmed to customer and AES specifications using approved engineering practices and meeting industry standards and codes.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Direct and coordinate controls group activities and provide interdepartmental communications
  • Oversee order fulfillment and execution
  • Manage, delegate, and assign projects to 3 controls engineers
  • Design and select control systems hardware and develop software
  • Ensure that manufacturing, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements
  • Provide technical expertise and advice to project teams and other departments
  • Improve and maintain change order and change control processes
  • Conduct weekly controls engineering project meetings
  • Represent controls group at interdepartmental management and capacity planning meetings
  • Provide resource tracking and metrics
  • Improve and maintain excellence in on-time delivery performance
  • Maintain and improve electrical manufacturing documentation
  • Support corporate validation program
  • Create and maintain a library of standardized software
  • Standardize multiple product line offerings
  • Continually improve final testing and support quality improvement programs
  • Support UL manufacturing program
  • Improve work flow processes and develop procedures
  • Evaluate and improve electrical hardware designs
  • Hire, train, develop, and provide performance reviews to employees
  • Support corporate operational improvement programs and initiatives

Required Experience:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field
  • 5+ years’ experience in PLC programming or hardware design
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management and/or supervisory role
  • Experience in electrical panel fabrication
  • Proficiency using MRP/ERP software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
