Controls Engineer

Company Background:

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for engineering control solutions for various types of SEMI-GAS® and VERSA-GAS™ automatic and semi-automatic gas delivery systems. This includes engineering-to-order standard product offerings as well as designing custom controls solutions, including both hardware and software. The Controls Engineer will also be responsible for testing and providing troubleshooting support to our field service engineers, technicians, or end users.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop, select, maintain, program and help commission automatic and semi-automatic gas delivery system controls
  • Develop and maintain proper documentation of all electrical/controls projects
  • Work closely with the final assembly team to integrate controls into system manufacturing
  • Provide troubleshooting support to field installation engineers, technicians, and end users
  • Understand and program GigaGuard™ and vRun™ controllers using several different programming styles, including ladder logic, structured text
  • Optimize and improve HMI’s
  • Ensure that final products conform to functional specifications and customer requirements
  • Participate in weekly controls engineering project meetings
  • Support product standardization initiative
  • Support quality improvement programs
  • Support UL manufacturing program
  • Aid in the improvement of work flow processes and procedures
  • Work simultaneously on multiple projects
  • Minimal business travel ( < 10%)

Required Experience:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • 1-3 years’ experience PLC programming on Siemens or equivalent PLCs
  • 1-3 years’ experience in controls hardware design
  • 1-3 years’ experience in HMI or SCADA design
  • 1-3 years’ experience troubleshooting hardware in a factory setting
  • Proficiency in CAD working with electrical diagrams and drawings
  • MRP/ERP software experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Start-up and commissioning experience is a plus

Laser Welding Technician

Company Background:

Position Overview:

The Laser Welding Technician will support our Precision Welding Division by assembling and welding small to microscopic instruments, devices, and components. In addition to being able to understand and follow procedures, production drawings, work orders, and bills of material, the applicant must also have an acute awareness for precision, repeatability, and quality. Production orders can vary from same-day prototype jobs to week or month long mass production orders, therefore a strong sense of timeliness and prioritization is a must.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Operate automatic laser welding equipment
  • Follow ISO 13485 procedures, as well as company safety and process requirements
  • Follow project drawings, specifications, work orders, and procedures to yield product that conforms to quality workmanship standards and established production standards
  • Position and clamp together components of fabricated product for welding preparation
  • Clean and perform after process weld finishing services
  • Assist with analytical testing, ranging from visual inspection to utilizing tensile testing and microscopic weld inspection equipment
  • Safely operate common manufacturing tools and equipment
  • Effectively interface with team members for component and equipment resources

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to read project drawings, specifications, work orders, and procedures
  • Quality/detail oriented with the ability to achieve repeatable results
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to work with and handle very small instruments and components
  • Ability to exercise good judgement/ problem solving skills
  • Strong appreciation for time management, priorities, and deadlines

Requirements:

  • Must have good vision and dexterity
  • Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and sit throughout the day for extended periods of time
  • Be able to follow protocols and direction thoroughly and repetitively
  • High School degree preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a production, assembly, or manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with the operation of common manufacturing tools and equipment
  • Previous welding and metallurgy experience is a plus

Technical Inside Sales Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Technical Inside Sales Engineer to join our SEMI-GAS® and VERSA-GAS™ sales team.  The objective of this position is to ensure the ultimate level in customer service though all stages of a customer’s buying cycle from initial contact to order placement. The right candidate is passionate, confident, accountable and finds fulfillment in exceeding customer expectations and building trusting relationships.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Receive and respond to incoming e-mail and telephone inquiries
  • Interpret customers’ technical specifications
  • Perform calculations for gas/liquid flow, exhaust flow and electrical
  • Specify components to meet the customer’s application and specification
  • Guide customers to the right product line for their application
  • Prepare P&ID’s using AutoCAD, production specifications, and support documents for bids and RFQ’s
  • Code navigation to ensure design is compliant
  • Develop proposals and quotations with accuracy and efficiency
  • Complete timely follow-ups
  • Effectively negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms and conditions
  • Identify and foster new customer relationships, as well as maintain and grow existing ones
  • Provide technical guidance to internal and external customers
  • Coordinate with Product Engineering and Customer Service to resolve customer issues
  • Onsite presentation on an as needed basis
  • Attend corporate tradeshows

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred Mechanical)
  • Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings

Field Installer/ Production Technician

Company Background:

Position Overview:

The objective of this position is to provide on-site field support to our high and ultra-high purity gas delivery systems, in addition to installing ultra-high purity gas piping lines in a variety of environments, ranging from R&D and university laboratories to high tech cleanrooms, fabs, and manufacturing facilities. Project assignments are typically regional, and can last for a week up to a month, and require stays away from home for about 40% of the calendar year. All travel expenses, including lodging and per diem, are compensated by the company. The Field Installer reports to a Field Team Leader and is responsible for completing a variety of hands-on trade related tasks, such as welding, tool operation, lifting, carrying, drilling, hammering, mounting, installing, etc.

When not on assignment, the Field Installer reports to our Production Manager at our headquarters in Malvern, PA and works as a member of our production team, assisting with the manufacture of our gas delivery equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Project Supervisor to configure equipment and piping layout
  • Help order project supplies and materials
  • Install gas equipment, piping supports, hangers, and stainless steel gas lines
  • Assemble materials and equipment at job site
  • Follow project specifications and drawings
  • Safely use hand and power tools
  • Repair equipment and components
  • Resolve problems
  • Perform analytical testing, as well as system and line validation
  • Follow facility, industry, company, and government safety regulations
  • Orbitally weld stainless steel gas tubing

  • Proficiency in measuring and performing basic mathematics
  • Pipe and tube welding experience is a plus
