Position Overview:
AES is seeking a qualified Financial Controller with experience in cost accounting and financial reporting who will lead a small Accounting team which includes an Accounts Payable Clerk and an Accounts Receivable Clerk. The Controller is responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s accounting principles, practices, and procedures in order to ensure timely and accurate financial statements. This includes handling daily accounting activities, cash flow, time billing, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as helping to implement and drive corporate strategies.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage and/or process cash receipts, disbursements, and daily banking requirements
- Maintain General Ledger including account reconciliations, analyzing financial data, and preparing reports
- Review and analysis of operating margins
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year end close
- Manage and process accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Manage travel advances and expense report processing
- Process bi-weekly payroll and manage payroll service
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Research and resolve accounting issues
- Cash flow analysis and forecasting
- Project accounting and job costing
- Develop budgets and variance reports
- Interface with Management team and outside accounting firm
- Maintain the confidentiality of company data
- Assist with strategic planning and the development of accounting objectives
- Evaluate the efficacy of existing internal accounting practices and identify improvements where needed

Required Experience:
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in corporate accounting with a manufacturing company
- Experience in project and cost accounting
- Proficiency using MRP/ERP software, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
- Working experience with Payroll Management software
