Position Overview:

The Machine Shop Operator will support our Production Department by fabricating specific components used in the assembly of gas delivery systems including but not limited to spacers, blocks, and cut to length tubing. In addition to being able to read and understand engineering drawings and job travelers, the applicant must also have experience with mechanical assembly, measuring, hand tools, and have good manual dexterity. This position also requires a working knowledge of machine shop practice.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Read project drawings, work orders, and procedures
  • Position, align, and adjust components for proper fit & function
  • Layout, drill, tap, or punch holes in sheet metal enclosure units
  • Perform basic machine shop setups on lathe and milling machine
  • Cut stainless tubing to length using automatic saw
  • Complete production paperwork and record-keeping
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area (5S)
  • Willing to work overtime as required

Essential Skills:

  • Quality/detail oriented with the ability to achieve repeatable results
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Basic setup and operation experience of lathe and milling machine
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to work with and handle small instruments and components
  • Strong appreciation for time management, priorities, and deadlines

Requirements:

  • Must have good vision and dexterity
  • Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and sit throughout the day for extended periods of time
  • Be able to follow protocols and direction thoroughly and repetitively
  • High School degree required
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a production, assembly, or manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with the operation of common manufacturing tools and equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
