Position Overview:
The objective of this technical outside sales position is to expand AES’ specialty gas equipment market share by maintaining and building customer relationships. This position is responsible for fostering new business opportunities through superior customer service, competitive pricing, solution selling, and technical expertise. In addition to actively pursuing sales activities, the outside sales representative will also act as a customer liaison to our inside sales team for RFQ’s, order status, and general inquiries and will be responsible for all business accounts across the western half of the United States. This is a home based position with significant travel. Applicants can be located in WA, OR, CA, AZ, NM, TX, UT, NV, ID, CO.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop clear and effective presentations, proposals and quotations
- Generate new customer accounts to increase business revenue
- Follow up on leads and referrals
- Establish and maintain current and potential client relationships, including on-going telephone calls and in-person visits
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints
- Execute a personal sales strategy to maximize return on time investment
- Actively manage a continuous call schedule to adequately cover the territory
- Participate in marketing events, seminars and trade shows
- Maintain professionalism, tact and diplomacy to positively portray the company
- Report on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services
- Work independently and within a team environment
- Maintain sales and activity reports

- Ability to travel including extended overnight stays
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Engineering or technical sales background
Required Experience:
- BA/BS degree in business or engineering preferred
- 5+ years’ demonstrated success working in a business-to-business development or sales role
- 3+ years’ experience in specialty gas equipment sales
- Proven ability to interact effectively with technical professionals
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of or experience with architects and engineering firms, semiconductor facilities, universities and R&D laboratories is a plus.
