Applied Energy Systems Formalizes Branding of Its Diverse Welding Services Under the Apex Precision Welding Division

Apex Precision Offers a Comprehensive Range of Welding Capabilities, Including Orbital Welding Services to Support Gas Delivery Systems Manufacturing

MALVERN, PA, SEPTEMBER 29, 2016 — Applied Energy Systems (AES), provider of premier high and ultra high purity gas systems, services, and solutions – including design, manufacturing, testing, field and precision welding services – has formalized the branding of its precision welding division under the name Apex Precision Welding. While the company has been providing high-quality welding capabilities for nearly 50 years, this branding initiative gives AES the opportunity to more actively promote its differentiated welding expertise as a core business offering.

“We may be best known today for our high and ultra high purity gas delivery systems and equipment, but AES’ first roots were in welding,” said Jim Murphy, General Manager of Applied Energy Systems. “And we leverage the decades-long welding expertise we’ve built when creating the specialized welded components that go into our equipment. The quality of our weldments is a key part of what enables AES’ gas delivery systems to meet the highest purity and precision standards, and we felt it was time to bring our capabilities in this area more prominently to the forefront under the Apex Precision brand.”

Apex Precision supports AES’ core equipment business through its high-precision orbital welding services – a technique that is well-suited for cleanrooms and high purity applications due to its ability to eliminate contamination and maximize weld consistency. The company’s orbital welding solutions are most commonly used by customers in the semiconductor, microelectronics, and pharmaceutical industries for precise weldments of sensors, gauges, valves, regulators, transducers, process piping, and other mission-critical components.

The division also offers comprehensive capabilities beyond orbital welding, which include laser welding and laser marking, glovebox welding, manual metal arc welding, and metallurgical analysis. Through these services, Apex Precision can support a broader range of customers, including those with medical, industrial, and analytical applications. In fact, AES is ISO 13485:2003 certified for the manufacture of welded implants and instrumentation, confirming the company has an effective quality management system in place to uphold the rigorous regulatory and process requirements of the medical device field, and in turn, other similarly stringent industries.

“The Apex Precision team is experienced in meeting the critical compliance-driven requirements of our customers across industries through precision-driven welding services,” noted Murphy. “Because we are able to offer such a diverse range of welding techniques, we can take a truly purpose-driven approach to solving our customers’ application challenges. We know that even the smallest welds have big impact on the performance of gas delivery equipment, devices, and more – and pair our systems-level perspective with a deep knowledge of materials and techniques to deliver welding solutions that exceed expectations for repeatable quality, accuracy, and turnaround speed.”
