Applied Energy Systems’ SEMI-GAS® Ultra High Purity Gas Delivery Systems Support Ever-Evolving Semiconductor and Microelectronics Production Needs

AES Continues to Expand the Footprint of Its Premier SEMI-GAS® Brand in Fabs Worldwide, Using Engineering Innovation to Meet Latest Standards for Precision, Purity, and Performance

MALVERN, PA, JUNE 29, 2016 — Applied Energy Systems (AES), provider of high and ultra high purity gas systems, services, and solutions – including design, manufacturing, testing, installation, and expert field service – is continuing to expand the global footprint of its premier SEMI-GAS® brand in the semiconductor and microelectronics industries. Applying continual engineering innovation to these field-proven, production-ready ultra high purity (UHP) gas delivery systems, AES is able to optimally support its high-tech customers’ rapidly evolving regulatory and process demands. As a result, leading organizations looking to capitalize on the opportunities in nanotechnology are increasingly selecting SEMI-GAS® products for their production environments.

“For over 35 years, Tier 1 leaders have turned to SEMI-GAS® as their choice to uphold the rigorous and precise gas delivery standards of semiconductor manufacturing,” said Jim Murphy, General Manager of Applied Energy Systems. “They’ve seen firsthand in the field that quality output that can be achieved with our premium products, and we’ve taken their feedback to ensure we are continuously engineering our products to meet their latest demands. We’re supporting an industry that is rapidly evolving, so our own commitment to continual product innovation has certainly become a differentiator for us.”

All SEMI-GAS® systems and equipment are built to conform to SEMI S2 standards and undergo sample quality assurance testing to ensure they uphold purity standards of less than 100ppb for moisture, oxygen and total hydrocarbons, and less than 5 particles/ft3 per 0.1-0.3 um, or 0 particles/ft3 for greater than 0.3 um. Offerings within the SEMI-GAS® line include:

  • Centurion™ Gas Cabinets, designed to exceed all required safety codes for the safe housing and delivery of UHP and hazardous gases in advanced production environments.
  • Decaturion™ Wall Mount Systems with ultra high purity orbitally welded construction for safe, precise gas handling. These manifolds come in modular designs for easy maintenance and future upgrades.
  • Nanoturion™ Distribution Systems for safe, continuous gas distribution from a single source gas supply to multiple points of use. Featuring unique in-line architecture, these compact, modular designs reduce dead space volume compared to other high purity valve manifold configurations.
  • Megaturion™ Bulk Specialty Gas Systems for high-volume handling and delivery of bulk hazardous process gases, with the same precision and purity enabled by SEMI-GAS®’ standard volume equipment.
  • Xturion™ Custom Gas Equipment featuring an array of custom-engineered systems to meet specialized applications and UHP requirements. These solutions build upon the premium features of SEMI-GAS’® core products, but are further customized through AES’ Applied Solutions engineering process.
  • GigaGuard™ Controllers for intuitive and precise UHP gas system control. These UL-labeled controllers include Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC); Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESS); Gas Safety Monitors (GSM); Pressure Status Indicators (PSI); and Compact Data Monitors (CDM).

“We’re proud to deliver a portfolio of premium ultra high purity gas delivery systems and solutions that continue to enhance the exceptional reputation of the SEMI-GAS® brand,” Murphy added. “And we’re looking forward to the next opportunities to innovate and engineer our equipment to best serve semiconductor leaders and other high-tech innovators around the world.”
