Applied Energy Systems to Showcase Its Industry 4.0-Ready Gas Delivery Equipment Control Technology at SEMICON West 2018

AES Engineers will be On Site to Demo SEMI-GAS® GigaGuard™ Controller Features and Integration Capabilities to Support Production Optimization in Semiconductor Fabs

MALVERN, PA, JUNE 29, 2018 — Applied Energy Systems (AES), provider of high and ultra high purity gas systems, services, and solutions – including design, manufacturing, testing, installation, and expert field services – will be showcasing its Industry 4.0-ready control technology for its SEMI-GAS® ultra high purity gas delivery systems as part of the company’s booth presence at this year’s SEMICON West, to be held in the Moscone Center in San Francisco from July 10 through 12. SEMICON West brings together business and technology leaders, researchers, and industry analysts from across the microelectronics supply chain to discuss hot-button trends and provide insight into today’s increasingly disruptive landscape. “With so much discussion in the semiconductor industry centered around Industry 4.0 techniques and how they can be adopted to transform manufacturing processes, we felt it was the perfect time to highlight our control technology,” said Jim Murphy, General Manager of Applied Energy Systems. “These controllers are what allow our SEMI-GAS® systems to interface with each other, as well as with other machines and facility management systems used across the fab, to share system performance data and enable the interconnectivity that drives Industry 4.0 efficiencies.”

AES will have three of its SEMI-GAS® GigaGuard™ Controllers on display at its booth, including the GSM and GSM-V Gas Safety Monitor Controllers, which are used to manage the continuous, safe delivery of process gases, and the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), which can be programmed to monitor customer-specific inputs and perform automatic safety functions and switchover related to ultra high purity process gas delivery. All of AES’ GigaGuard™ Controllers are engineered for use in advanced semiconductor, electronics, and high-tech manufacturing environments, and conform to SEMI S2 standards. Continuous data collection and remote system monitoring capabilities make them SCADA-ready and able to provide fab operators with instantaneous insights into system performance in order to increase production uptime. Additionally, the controllers are also Industry 4.0 compatible and can be easily integrated with other systems used to monitor and manage production processes.

“Our GigaGuard™ Control Technology is optimized to support smart manufacturing in fabs, giving operators the control to maintain system efficiency, the data to facilitate uninterrupted production, and the communications link needed to ensure operations involving gas delivery are seamlessly integrated within the larger production process,” added Murphy. “We’re eager to share the line’s advanced functionality with SEMICON West attendees.”

AES will have members of its engineering and sales teams on site at Booth #6073 to demo its control technology and answer questions about its equipment solutions for ultra high purity gas and liquid delivery. Those interested in scheduling a one-on-one meeting with an AES representative during SEMICON West can request a meeting time by emailing sales@semi-gas.com.
