Applied Energy Systems’ VERSA-GAS™ vSource™ Gas Source Systems Have Been Selected to Support New Research Laboratory at East Coast Public University

AES will Supply Multiple vSource™ Gas Cabinets and Gas Panels for Customer’s Newest Research Facility

MALVERN, PA, APRIL 30, 2018 — Applied Energy Systems (AES), provider of high and ultra high purity gas systems, services, and solutions – including design, manufacturing, testing, installation, and expert field services – has been selected by an east coast public university to supply its VERSA-GAS™ high purity gas delivery equipment to the microelectronics research laboratory within the school’s new interdisciplinary engineering facility. AES will provide vSource™ Gas Cabinets and vSource™ Gas Panels in varying configurations to suit the specific gas delivery requirements of the laboratory and support its material growth, device fabrication, and testing needs.

VERSA-GAS™ vSource™ Gas Source Systems are engineered to safely and reliably address diverse high purity gas delivery applications for hazardous and non-hazardous process and purge gases. The systems, which undergo helium leak testing validation to 1×10-9 atm-cm3/sec, will operate in a Class 1000 clean room and will be utilized to carry out a range of electrical and optical experimentation and testing. As part of the project, AES will be delivering:

  • vSource™ 6-Valve Semi Automatic Switchover Gas Panels equipped with vRun™ Dual ESS controllers for automatic system shutdown and cylinder switchover, gauge based pressure monitoring, and manual purge capabilities.
  • vSource™ 1 and 2 Cylinder Semi Automatic Gas Cabinets equipped with vRun™ ESS controllers for automatic system shutdown, gauge based pressure monitoring, manual purge capabilities, analog cylinder scales, and associated scale controllers.
  • vSource™ 1 and 2 Cylinder Semi Automatic Gas Cabinets equipped with vRun™ ESS controllers for automatic system shutdown, gauge based pressure monitoring, manual purge capabilities, analog cylinder scales, and associated scale controllers.
  • A number of vSource™ 2-valve, 3-valve, and 4-valve Manual Gas Panels for a range of inert process and purge gases.

“When the institution explained the scope of its gas handling needs, we knew our vSource™ systems were up for the task,” said Jim Murphy, General Manager of Applied Energy Systems. “Our VERSA-GAS™ equipment has been operating successfully in universities and labs for decades, and helping researchers achieve new standards of reproducibility, uniformity, and quality in their R&D applications. We are confident that this proven performance will translate to the new laboratory, and that our vSource™ systems will help them obtain the levels of experimental control and precision that their unique research demands.”
