Princeton University Selects SEMI-GAS® Equipment for New Andlinger Center
Centurion™ and Nanoturion™ Gas Systems to be Installed in Energy and Environment Complex
Malvern, Pa. March 2014 – SEMI-GAS® Systems, an industry-leading provider of ultra-high purity gas delivery equipment, announced that Princeton University has selected its Centurion™ gas source and Nanoturion™ distribution systems for use in the University’s new Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment (ACEE). The SEMI-GAS ultra-high purity equipment will support the facility’s new labs and clean rooms.
Founded in 2008, and funded in part by a $100 million gift from international business leader Gerhard R. Andlinger, the University’s 129,000 square foot Center will provide a complex of new laboratory, office and lecture space for research and education in sustainable energy development, energy conservation, and environmental protection. The Center’s chief goal is to translate fundamental knowledge into practical solutions that enable sustainable energy production as well as protection of the environment and global climate from energy-related anthropogenic change.
The new laboratory will utilize 10 Centurion automatic gas cabinets, 30 Centurion wall mount systems, 11 Nanoturion valve manifold boxes, and 85 Nanoturion valve manifold panels designed for the delivery of ultra-high purity gases. SEMI-GAS will also provide equipment commissioning, personnel training and general support for the facility start-up.
SEMI-GAS Systems division manager, Jim Murphy, said, “We are proud to collaborate with Princeton University in the advancement of new energy and environment technologies. We are confident that the completed Andlinger Center will set a new standard for excellence in research and education.”
The Andlinger Center, which is scheduled for completion during the summer of 2015, is part of Princeton’s School of Engineering and Applied Science and collaborates with the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs as well as the School of Architecture.
