Applied Energy Systems Poised for Continued Growth After Successful 2018

Success Stems from New Product Innovation, New Customer Engagements, and the Acquisition of an Industry Leader in Purifier Technology

MALVERN, PA, DECEMBER 21, 2018 — Applied Energy Systems (AES), provider of high and ultra high purity gas systems, services, and solutions – including design, manufacturing, testing, installation, and expert field services – has achieved record-setting growth in 2018, which also marks the 50th anniversary of the company’s founding. The company’s success over the past year has been fueled in large part by expanded product offerings, new customer engagements and, most recently, the strategic acquisition of Advanced Research Manufacturing (ARM), a specialty provider of gas purifiers, which leaves AES poised for further growth in 2019.

Examples of AES’ product innovation in 2018 include the introduction of its new VERSA-GAS™ vSpec™ line of specialty gas equipment, which is designed for handling inert and non-reactive gases in applications requiring configurable, safe, cost-effective, and code-compliant delivery. Additionally, AES leveraged customer input to roll out a standardized version of its SEMI-GAS® Xturion™ LPX™ (Liquid Push System) for ultra high purity hazardous liquid applications, combining the most sought-after safety and performance features of its custom LPX™ designs into one streamlined, standard model.

AES also continued to be selected as the gas delivery systems provider of choice by customers across a variety of industries. The company’s notable customer wins in 2018 include supplying its VERSA-GAS™ vSource™ Gas Cabinets and Gas Panels to a new microelectronics research laboratory at a public university and partnering with a leading global tooling provider to supply its SEMI-GAS® Megaturion™ MegaCyl system for their bulk specialty gas delivery needs. AES’ Apex Precision Welding division also underpinned its commitment to delivering high-precision welding solutions by scoring high marks for product and service quality, service value, and manufacturing capabilities in a customer satisfaction survey.

Most recently, AES acquired Advanced Research Manufacturing (ARM), a specialty provider of gas purification solutions with a worldwide install base of point-of-use, micro-bulk, and bulk gas purifiers. ARM’s portfolio of getter, catalyst, and absorber purification technologies will now be offered through AES to supplement and further expand its gas delivery equipment offerings and bring new benefits to customers seeking comprehensive, quality gas handling solutions.

“I credit our success in 2018 to our team’s focused commitment to meeting customers’ evolving needs for precision gas delivery equipment and solutions—even in a rapidly changing market,” said Jim Murphy, General Manager of Applied Energy Systems. “Looking to the future, we have exciting plans for both the AES and ARM product lines and will continue to innovate with Industry 4.0-ready solutions that efficiently solve the latest gas delivery and purification challenges our clients face.”
